A new garage door is one of the few improvements that changes both how a house looks from the street and how it works day to day. Insulation deserves a decision rather than a default, and the case for it is much stronger in one half of this city than the other. On a hill-terrain property the door is often seen from an angle and from below, from a driveway that climbs or falls, which flatters flush and long-panel profiles and is much less forgiving of heavy applied detail.
